In 1995, Zain Jordan revolutionized telecommunications in Jordan by introducing GSM mobile services into the country. Zain quickly became the foremost telecom company in Jordan, a position that it kept to this day through a far sighted policy of investment in adopting cutting edge technology to provide state of the art services to clients, and investment in community development through the most active and substantive corporate social responsibility (CSR) program in the kingdom.

 

Since its inception, Zain Jordan has tallied subscriber growth at an  exceptional rate, with the number of subscribers around 4.2 million subscribers with a telecom market share of 38.4% in the kingdom.

 

Through about 3970 2G and 3G cell sites in addition to 1000 4G cell sites, Zain covers the entire populated area of Jordan.

 

In January 2003, Zain Group acquired Zain Jordan in what was considered the largest single acquisition in the Middle East region, and the largest private sector investment in Jordan.

 

As Zain Jordan pioneered in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), it also took the lead in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation when Zain was the first  company in the kingdom to establish the Corporate Entrepreneurship Responsibility (CER) section in  2013 to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jordan and in 2014, Zain inaugurated Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC) which is a platform  that provides entrepreneurs, startups and youth with the opportunity to connect, meet, work, interact and engage with each other.

 

In February 2015; Zain Jordan was the first to commercially launch 4G/LTE services in Jordan. The service features very high internet speeds with mobility aspects offering speeds up to 150Mbps coupled with nationwide coverage reaching all governorates. The service was utilized in creating various bundles and products to cater for all needs and consumptions patterns of various customers whether through the Zain Jordan broadband Home and office plans, or mobile phones services.

 

Committed to provide its customers with the latest technologies, Zain is the first telecom operator in Jordan to provide a true Fiber to the Home (FTTH) experience through its “Zain Fiber” product family. With an end to end optical fiber infrastructure rollout from Zain’s core network hubs all the way to the boundary of customers’ premises, the service allows Zain to provide higher, low latency, and more consistent bandwidth (reaching the Gigabit barrier) to its customers catering for the continuously growing demand and the ability to provide a broader range of value added services.

 

Zain Jordan provided a cloud-based video monitoring service “Zain Camera” that enables customers to monitor their houses live via their smartphones and internet browser on their tablets and computers. This service resembles the best solution for customers to monitor their houses remotely, from their smartphones or tablets.
